The evolution of jeans culture and progression of jeans style
The first riveted jeans were invented in 1873 by Jacob David and Levi Strauss. For twenty years, Levi Strauss & Co was the only company allowed to manufacture riveted clothing. In 1890, these pants were given the number of 501,which is still used today.
In the 1950s, the baby-boomer generation adopted the jeans for the first-time to symbolize individualism. Young people especially came to love jeans.
From then on, jeans were swiftly adopted as a popular fashion style for people of all ages in United States and abroad. Different styles have also developed in the late twentieth century, and jeans have become the high-fashion product, produced by brand name designers. Jeans are also widely used by celebrities, as they too have become fashion icons.
